Emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss the case of infant death - Minister Dr Sudhakar

An emergency meeting has been convened tomorrow to discuss the case of three infants killed by rubella vaccination in Belgaum, Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said.


Speaking today about this incident, I received the report claiming cause of death to be septic shock syndrome but I want to know if there's a failure in cold chain management of vaccine storage & handling", Health Minister Dr Sudhakar told ANI on the question of 3 babies who died in the morning after the measles-rubella vaccine.

The responsible officers will be suspended pending a departmental enquiry. We are investigating if there was a problem in the formulation of the vaccine as well. An emergency meeting has been called tomorrow to discuss this issue, the minister said.
